Most of the items on this list improve the safety or reliability of the TC. It is now, and always has been, my intent to make this TC into a driver and not into a show car. Certainly I do plan to make it look nice, but safety and practicality are the primary focus of this restoration. Among the modifications noted above very few are noticeable and many are completely invisible to anyone judging the car. Others, like the VW steering can be seen, but appear to the untrained eye to look as though they belong. All modifications have been made while being very conscious of not harming the original car. The VW steering for example, does not require any cutting or welding on the car. It does require the removal of two original rivets in the frame, which could easily be replaced, should a future owner wish to replace the original BC steering.
